Welcome to the Orono, MN Police Department's official website.  The Orono Police Department is proud to serve the communities of Spring Park, Minnetonka Beach, Mound and Orono.  The police department covers approximately 28 square miles of land and 20,000 citizens.  The Orono Police Department prides itself on making the communities feel safe through enforcement and by building strong lasting relationships with citizens and businesses. 

Civilian Use of Force class application   Looking for an opportunity to understand use of force and decisions officers have to make on the job?  Saturday May 12, 2018 we are hosting a Use of Force class for civilians from 1-5pm at Orono PD. Please print and return to our office by Monday April 12, 2018 by 4:30pm.  Applications must be given to us in person during business hours to be considered. * preference will be given to residents residing in our jurisdiction





The Orono Police Department has teamed up with other local emergency services to make our communities HEARTSafe.  HEARTSafe Communities is a program designed to promote survival from sudden out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. It is a general concept focused upon strengthening the “chain of survival” as described by the American Heart Association; it recognizes and stimulates efforts by individual communities to improve their system for preventing sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) from becoming irreversible death.  Learn more about HEARTSafe

Reports will be posted by 5pm each Wednesday and will include incidents from Monday - Sunday of the preceding week.
