Organics Recycling

Give Back to Nature

Orono currently has 96 participants in organics recycling. About one-third of a typical Orono household's waste is food scraps and non-recyclable paper. When treated as trash, this material ends up in landfills or is burned.

A more desirable alternative is to compost this waste to create usable soil. Of the five residential trash haulers licensed in Orono, only Randy's Environmental Services 763-972-3335 offers organics recycling. Call them to start organic recycling.
