Voting is "your right" as a United States
Citizen. Protect the rights of all citizens by participating in the entire
election process.
Remember it wasn't that long ago that women or persons of color weren't able
to vote. This is a privilege that many before us have fought for! We
all should take advantage of these rights!

VOTING & ELECTION PROCEDURES
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO VOTE? |
|
COLLEGE
STUDENTS - DO I RE-REGISTER?
AND WHERE DO I VOTE? |
As a college student , you have a choice about where to cast your ballot.
This does not change where you are registered to vote, and you
should not
re-register, unless you have permanently changed where you live. Most
students are simply away for college, your primary resident is still your
permanent residence. The best thing to do would be to absentee vote,
in your home town; this way you can vote on issues at home. If
however, you are simply interested in voting for president, you can vote at
your college.
Do not re-register unless you are now a permanent resident of the city you
are going to school at. For most students you are just simply away for
a year or two. Keep in mind, if you re-register in a new city, you will
be removed from your home town state voter registration system.
IMPORTANT: You may vote only once in any given election.
 | If you live at home while attending school, you would vote in your
hometown elections, at your hometown polling place.
|
 | If you live on campus, you may vote either at your hometown polling
place (as long as you still have a permanent
residence there), or you may vote at the polling place in the neighborhood
where school is located
(but not at both places, you must make a
choice).
|
 | If you live off campus at school, you may vote either at your hometown
polling place (as long as you still have a permanent residence there), or
you may vote at the polling place in your school-year neighborhood
(but, again; not at both places). |
