FALL & WINTER ACTIVITIES IN ORONO CITY PARKS

Orono City parks are open for year-round use and enjoyment.  French Creek Park, located east of Old Crystal Bay Road approximately 3 mile north of County Road 51, is a great spot for viewing of migrating waterfowl every fall.  The natural area contains a large pond with a walking path around it for great wildlife viewing. In order to minimize disturbance to the waterfowl, no dogs are allowed in this park.

Winter activities in parks include unsupervised open skating rinks located along Casco Point Road and in Hackberry Park on Willow Drive.

Numerous sliding hills are available at the Orono Public Golf Course on Orono Orchard Road, and beginning in January, the Clubhouse will be open from noon-4:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through February with concessions available.

2010 - The Club House Won't Be Open!

All of the City parks are open for winter activities such as hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing all winter.  Just a reminder snowmobiling is not allowed in City parks.  Snowmobiling is allowed on the Luce Line Trail west of Stubbs Bay Road, with a limited parking area available at the Bederwood Park lot on Stubbs Bay Road.  Snowmobiling is not allowed on the Luce Line Trail east of Stubbs Bay Road.
