Most improvements involving property require some type of permit, such as:

 
bulletBuilding and renovation projects
bulletSewer and/or water connections
bulletMechanical and fireplace projects
bulletSigns
bulletPlumbing projects
bulletVarious land alterations
bulletSeptic installation
 
   

In addition, the following permits are required for a number of activities that take place on properties within Orono:
 
bulletBurning
bulletHunting
bulletFireworks
bulletPeddlers and transient merchants
bulletGambling
bulletSpecial events
   

The following licenses are required to carry on and transact certain types of businesses and/or activities in Orono:
 
bulletJoint Use Docks
bulletKennel, residential or commercial
bulletDogs
bulletLiquor
bulletGarbage haulers
bulletTobacco
bulletHome occupations

  3. Complete the information using the online form where available and submit to the Orono City Offices via an e-mail attachment.

NOTE:  Some projects may also require a Permit from the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) – please contact our Planning Department or the MCWD for specific details.
